the old and the new

"Out with the Old, In with the New" I know that is the saying, but does that mean that you actually have to get rid of the old... can't you just keep it in a drawer or something? I think you should be able to. It is hard for me to imagine that I am not as close to Hilarie, Abby, Jill, Jen, or Cecily as I used to be. They were a part of every aspect of my life from (conservatively) 9th grade through 12th. Now we see each other maybe once a week, and just get the glossed over version of each others' lives. In so many ways I miss them, I miss the smiles, and the discussions, the fun and the tears. But in other ways, I have my roommates now, and they are amazing. I love talking to them, and learning from them. But even then, I know that is just going to change again... see!!! Wouldn't it be nice to just put the good in the drawer and be able to take it out and have had nothing change? What a sad day that Danielle is moving out. She has been my best friend this year, and I am going to loose her too. Along with everyone else that has ever meant anything special to me. Well, besides my family, I am glad that they will always be there.

I agree! That is the hardest things about change and getting older! At least you get once a week with your old friends. I might get once a year, with a Christmas card. Its hard, but I love those Christmas cards reminds me of those school days and to see what they have done with their lives. If there was no change, there wouldn't be those fond memories of times past! Its hard to embrace change, but you're doing it just fine!
