Roommate Bonding
So, after a week I am already making great friends with my new roommates, we are doing good things together and have established good traditions, like spiritual thoughts, apartment prayer, and laughter. I've enjoyed having Hannah Wertz as my roommate this past week, and am excited that we are going to be together for the rest of the year. It has been fun because we finish each other's thoughts and say the same things every once in a while. She is an art teaching major, and is REALLY good at art. What a talent she has. She will be good to keep me grounded this next year too.
So, what have we done you might be thinking for "roommate bonding" well, the first day I was here we went the the mall shopping together, and Tiana got some really cute pants. But more importantly, we went camping last night, and what a treat that was. I loved being in the mountains, and the BEAUTIFUL scenery, and the fire, and swedish fish, and s'mores, and sleeping together in a tent, it was a lot of fun. A great 12 hour stretch.
It was a great time to think about life and the things that are important to me: things that I want to become, things that I cherish, things that never want to change. I worried about what it is that I can do for Abby, I miss and cherish her, what a great experience for her, but starting out is always hard. I hope that Danielle enjoys her semester in London since she has worked SO hard to get there. I was brought to think about my first kiss ..... what a strange story. And to make dreams to go to Africa and see the elephants :) I guess it was a good reflective evening. and a great way to start off the semester - doing something fun that didn't take too long. ps: in the picture - me, Jess, Hannah, Katie, and Alex
