O.k, I have two things to share with you. First off, men are really creepy. At least some of them are. I was driving to Mapleton Junior High School and this man was walking across the street and made a head gesture of “yeah, hi, I’m cool, and I’m checkin’ you out” I just looked past him and didn’t acknowledge him, but decided that I should probably lock my doors, he crossed the street, and I looked over again at him, and he was turned around and looking at me, and gestured for me to turn into the parking lot there ….. as if I would come and talk to this random stranger just so he could ….. who knows, it wasn’t happening though. Luckily the light turned green shortly thereafter and I could just drive away.
Next event, this is much more happy, so, today I went to Mapleton Junior High School to judge for the Nebo district science fair. The students did SUCH a good job. It made me so happy to see students excelling and exploring the world around them. I was amazed at the understanding that they had. There were two fairs going on, one was elementary schools, and the other was middle/high schools, but I only saw one high school student, don’t know how that works, but I just went with it. Anyways, the students had learned so much I asked one student about colligative properties, and another about redox, I talked to one student about trusses and another about gadolinium used for MRIs and how binding was tested using a GC…. I bet he won, another talked about freezing-point depression, a pair did a project on making their own amplifier for a ukulele, and another talked about getting electricity from potatoes, or avocados. Honestly, they all did a really good job, and I was impressed with all of their work. I wonder which projects won. I know that I didn’t have a chance to see all of them, not even a fourth of them really. It would have been nice to have stayed for the awards ceremony, but I figured I should get back and work on my homework…. here I am doing this though, oh well, I just had to talk about this.
It was so nice to talk to people, to families, to be in the real world. I talked with a teacher over at Payson Middle, he is retired from Provo School District, but then teaching again now in Nebo, he had some good stories about his process through things. And then this other lady, I think she was a fifth grade teacher, but she was a judge with me, and we talked about some of the projects, and well, it was really nice to know that there are real people out there. I think sometimes in the world of BYU we forget that there are other things that are important in life, that there are lots of things going on. It was nice to be brought back to that reality, and to enjoy my evening. It was a great way to spend my time, and now I and going to work on my own homework and hopefully present my work as well as those students did. Have a great evening.

Men sure are creepy sometimes!!! Ain't it the truth!
Yay for the science fair though :)
I haven't read your blog for a while so it was good to get caught up. You need to post more pictures though. I miss your smiling face.
I hope you remember some of these science fair projects because we are going to need idea's next year.
I haven't hiked the Y since we lived in Provo. We should go with my kids. Maybe after piano sometimes soon.
I love you and miss talking to you all the time. Call me more often just to talk.
